Alabama Ignition Interlock Devices is certified by the Department of Forensic Sciences to install and monitor the Draeger XT® ignition interlock device. Alabama Ignition Interlock services the IID locally in Mobile. Mobile service is also available in Mobile, Baldwin, Jefferson and Shelby counties.


The Draeger Interlock Device

The Draeger XT® is alcohol specific and utilizes electrochemical fuel cell technology. You will NOT get false fails that could jeopardize your compliance with a court order. You WILL save time, money and frustration because you will NOT have to pay for "resets" due to non alcohol containing products.

The Draeger XT® meets all worldwide ignition interlock device requirements, including those required by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science. The Draeger XT® has been engineered to be operational in extreme temperatures. From -40 to 185 °F (-40 to +85 °C).

Steps To Comply With Your Ignition Interlock Order

  • Contact Alabama Ignition Interlock Devices and schedule an installation appointment. Have your VIN number, current vehicle mileage, and vehicle license plate tag number available so we can pre-register you with the State of Alabama. (confirmation of this registration will occur at installation)
  • At your appointment you will be instructed how to use the interlock device, while the unit is being installed in your vehicle.
  • Following your installation Alabama IID will provide you with an installation certificate that you can use to verify compliance in the interlock program.
